A Future Age - Rainmeter Theme - (Final)Full View Please!
- It's much crisper then it appears in this preview.Update 6.27.2012: Unexpectedly, I have received so many requests for this Theme that I threw up my hands and put together the best package I could, considering the circumstances. Here is the link to the downloadable package with the .rmskin, instructions, etc. [link]
Update 6.24.2012 - I had an accident earlier today, and I managed to delete all the work files associated with this project. To say I am miffed is a deep understatement. In any case, those of you have requested this, or were going to, please be aware that I can supply the 1280 x 1024 version of this, and that's it. So much for the updates to this I was going to make later this year. <cries> Rainmeter Theme - A Future Age
This is my attempt to create a Myst(TM) inspired Desktop. Myst is the first of a series of games by Cyan Productions. I could say a lot more about this series of games, but it would take up this entire post. Needless to say, it's visual look is unique, and I wanted to have a Desktop that would mesh with my Slideshow of the many images I have from the Games.
I hope that someday I can come back to this and improve it. I learned a lot while working on this Theme, but it's obvious I've got a ways to go still.A Future Age Journal Post

My previous Rainmeter theme was a breeze compared to this. I had huge expectations for this Theme, and fell way short. On the other hand, I learned how to make really neat buttons, sort of animate my CPU meter, and in the process of all this I gained some skill with Photoshop Styles. The wallpaper, icons, buttons...pretty much everything is a Photoshop Style on top of a bunch of simple 2D images.
This Theme has a couple of neat things that folks on the Rainmeter forums helped me with. Neato Slideshow buttons that have hover affects, and additional code that causes one button to update/change another. Also, instead of a standard vertical or horizontal CPU bar, I've got a meter that displays 1 of 3 images, depending on the state of my CPU. (That would be the big Crystal shown in the Top Left corner).
I created brand new images for all my Stardock ObjectDock icons. The top Tab icons came out fine, but I'm not super happy with the Launch icons down on the bottom left. Credits
