In one of my recent submissions, I said that there was a reason why learning how to do cartonnage was so important. It's certainly a long way from doing digital art, which is why I joined Deviant Art in the first place in 2013. My life has improved dramatically since I first joined, and in many ways, my lifestyle is very different as well. In any case, am finally well on my way to having a real designed home, with specific aesthetics and designs in mind. In the process of trying to find neat looking things that go with the furniture, I discovered my interest in late 18th century vintage design. This aesthetic goes really well with my furniture, but to buy it outright is crazy expensive. So I decided to offset the main cost and make a lot of things myself. It's been an interesting road, and this project has just started. It's fun sometimes, but I am not a professional artist, so there are times when I want to tear my hair out and throw things. I've been quiet for a long time here in DA. My life has changed drastically 3 times since I posted my last Rainmeter theme. For several years my life was pretty crappy, but in the last 12 months, things have been picked up dramatically. Those of you who watched me early on recall I was futzing around with Fractals, and I posted 2 Rainmeter themes, along with some general content. I have an entire new set of office furniture that is all cream white, and I'm going for a sort of vintage affect in my office. It's amazingly hard to find matching things I like, so I've embarked on learning a new crafting method so that I can make my own things just the way I want them. I'm also TRYING to be a better photographer. My new submissions will be mostly crafted stuff until I have at least a few things that I actually NEED. Plus, I'm on the fence about

Even though I haven't done much with my own profile here on DA, I've been trying to keep up with recent submissions for the folks I Watch and the groups I Follow.  Even though I have wanted to post something on a lot of the submissions from folks I Watch, I generally just don't have the energy to make a good post beyond "gosh, that's neat". Which to me is a cop-out, and I hate posting that sort of drivel. However, I've been leeching a ton of art from DA folks and I'm going to try to get back into the groove of correspondence I once enjoyed with folks here on DA. I'll be reaching out to some of you on my Watch list soon, and generally trying
